Organisms Democracy Baltic Sea follows a new approach of Mare liberum: The sea as a habitat, with a population of marine organisms in its territory, is to be returned to itself and at the same time linked to a representative democracy of human sea inhabitants and users. Organism Democracy Baltic Sea imagines a future based on equal rights and coexistence of all living beings in and around the Baltic Sea.
Initiated and facilitated by the artists’ group Club Real and NGO Organism Democracy e.V., partnerinstitutions and communities from the Baltic countries develop cultural and political practises for the inclusion of all marine life”.
CLUB REAL is a group of artists founded in Berlin in 2000 that has been realising participatory, site-specific projects. Club Real currently consists of Mathias Lenz, Paz Ponce, Marianne Ramsay-Sonneck, and Georg Reinhardt.
This event is curated by Lidia Gasperoni and is a collaboration between Fieldstations, Club Real and the Department of Architectural Theory of the TU Berlin.
