The virtual reality project "VR ON SITE_2 | Fieldstation Berlin Teufelsberg | Virtual Reality Lab" is a ten day summer workshop at the former American and British Fieldstation on Teufelsberg, Berlin. On the basis of the original historical planning documents, Dr. Philipp Reinfeld of the Institute of Media and Design, TU Braunschweig proposes exploring models and scenarios of past, present and future interventions using immerse technologies on site.

Design workshop with architecture students of the TU Braunschweig at the former NSA Field Station Berlin on Teufelsberg. Project idea and conception: Philipp Reinfeld. Implemented by Philipp Reinfeld with Hannes Hummel (Cologne International School of Design KISD). In collaboration with “Fieldstations e.V. – Association for the Promotion of Research and Science of the Anthropocene” and “ASL + Opensource Lab for Sustainable Technologies”.

On the premises of the former American-British spy station on the Berlin Teufelsberg, students of the Institute of Media and Design of TU Braunschweig developed projects during a 12-day “Virtual Reality” workshop. VR projects were developed with the help of original plans, photo archives, interviews, photogrammetric surveys and individual surveys to create immersive experiences featuring present and possible futures of Teufelsberg.

In den Räumlichkeiten der früheren amerikanisch-britischen Abhörstation auf dem Berliner Teufelsberg, haben Studierende des Instituts für Mediales Entwerfen in einem 12-tägigen Workshop „Virtual Reality“- Projekte entwickelt. Mit Hilfe unterschiedlicher Informationsquellen wurden Aspekte der Vergangenheit, der Gegenwart und möglicher Zukünfte des Teufelsbergs immersiv erlebbar gemacht. Unter Verwendung von Originalplänen, Fotoarchiven, Interviews, fotogrammetrischen Raumvermessungen sowie individuellen Erkundungen zur aktuellen Nutzung des Geländes, wurde unter Verwendung von VR-Technologie ein tiefer Einblick in die wechselvolle Geschichte dieses ehemaligen Hotspots geheimdienstlicher Aktivitäten möglich gemacht.
