Reinhold Leinfelder
Fieldstations e.V. is a German non-profit, tax-exempt association promoting research and knowledge of the Anthropocene by deploying stations and agents into specific fields to sense and gather data about humanity’s impact on Earth. Fieldstations curates and moderates workshops and conversations adapted to specific sites, issues and actors (individuals, institutions and communities) within the context of the Anthropocene. Fieldstations creates scenarios, conducts applied experiments and documents results, while disseminating acquired knowledge and artifacts about the Anthropocene via networks, media platforms, exhibitions and its annual journal.

Mit der Aufforderung „Unsere Zeit gestalten!“ präsentiert sich der Verein Fieldstations am 9. November 2017 im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe „wir müssen reden“ im Deutschen Architektur Zentrum (DAZ).

Das Menschenzeitalter, in dem wir uns befinden – auch treffend als Anthropozän bezeichnet – stellt eine neue Phase mit tiefgreifenden Auswirkungen auf die gesamte Welt dar.

Es wird deutlich, dass wir in einer Epoche leben, in welcher die Menschheit einerseits mit Unmöglichkeit globalen Veränderungen vollständig zu begreifen konfrontiert wird und gleichzeitig vor der Herausforderung steht, neue Wege zu finden, lokale Wirklichkeiten zu transformieren.

Fieldstations wendet sich der aktiven Wahrnehmung unserer Umwelt zu und möchte Wirkkraft dort ansetzen, wo Menschen aktiv und kritisch ihr Umfeld gestalten und bewusst verändern möchten, um dem systemischen Gleichgewicht näher zu kommen.

Wir freuen uns sehr Prof. Dr. Reinhold Leinfelder als unseren Gastredner ankündigen zu können, der seit 2012 eine Professur für Paläontologie und Geobiologie an der Freien Universität Berlin innehat. Gemeinsam mit ihm wollen wir am Y-Table Denkanstöße zu diesen Themen geben.

With its invitation to “Shape our time!” the Fieldstations association presents itself in the framework of “we need to talk” at the Deutsches Architektur Zentrum (DAZ) on 9 November 2017.

The human age we find ourselves in, also appositely referred to as the Anthropocene, constitutes a new phase with profound effects on our planet.

It is overwhelmingly evident that we live in an era where humanity is confronted with its inability to grasp global transformations while simultaneously being challenged to find new ways to transform local realities.

The purpose of Fieldstations is to drive active awareness of our environment; deploying agents into fields to critically perceive their surroundings and consciously shape them to pursue systemic balance.

We are very pleased to present Prof. Dr. Reinhold Leinfelder as our guest speaker. He is the professor for Paleontology and Geobiology at Freie Universität Berlin since 2012. Together with him we wish to generate thought-provoking ideas and begin an enriching discussion.
